In Memoriam:
Jeffrey Day Richardson
January 31, 1960 - May 9, 2007
from the Austin American-Statesman, 5/20/07
Jeffrey Day Richardson, age 47, crossed over the river of life on May 9, 2007, to join his father, Kenneth Ogden Richardson, paternal grandparents, Bevis Ogden and Katherine Hanks Richardson, and maternal grandparents, Reverend Leon and Ruby Tatum Day. Jeff, like his father, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, is survived by the great love of his life, Kate Smith, and her children Emily and Jake Mente. Other surviving family members include his daughter, Elisabeth Diane Richardson, mother Ruth Richardson Day, brother Bevis Ogden Richardson, sister and brother-in-law Ruby Leah and Robert Ransom Morgan, niece Maggie Erin Romine and her children Rhiannon Rose Fowler and James Neal Romine. As a youngster, Jeff was interested in prestidigitation and ventriloquism, performing for family and friends with his plastic "partner", Willie Talk. A man of many talents, Jeffrey was formerly employed by the Texas Secretary of State and Lumbermen's Investment Corp., using his computer skills, and was also an auto mechanic; saxophone player; talented writer; landscaper; wood crafter; retail clerk; and technophile. A true Renaissance man, he was an intelligent, gentle and sensitive Harley-riding poet with eclectic musical tastes. Jeffrey's wish was that somehow all mankind can learn to live in peace. Jeffrey was a former member of Christian Life Church and a strong advocate of the Apostolic faith having received the infilling of the Holy Ghost when he was eleven years old, and renewing his commitment to God while serving in the Marines. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 2, 2007 at the Christian Life Church, 4700 Westgate Blvd, Austin, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
