Joseph Barry Evans (Joe), 47, born April 2, 1960, died October 30, 2007 at Brackenridge Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Eileen Evans, father Thomas Zimmerman Evans (T.Z.) his brothers John, Brian and Bill Evans and his sister Eileen Evans. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Rae Evans; granddaughter, Jacqueline Nicole Bittick; and son, Ian James Evans. Also surviving him are his six remaining siblings, Thomas Evans, Jean Evans, Mary (Evans) and Don Haywood, Mercy Ziegler Evans, Christopher Evans, and Jim and Beverly Evans all of Austin. He was also "Uncle Joe" to dozens of nieces and nephews. Joe lived a hard life but through it all he had the ability to pull through the pain and keep a smile on his face, he also loved to make others smile. He was a wonderful father to Nicole and Ian and the greatest grandpa to Jacqueline. Ian who was born with Downs Syndrome is 16 years old, Ian and Joe enjoyed bowling together and listening to music at SXSW. Joe was always talking to people about his children and expressed how proud he was to be a father. He will be missed by all who knew him. There will be a memorial service for him at the old family homestead at 629 West Dittmar Road Austin, TX 78745 on Sunday, November 4th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest next to his sister there.
